The Perfect Fate of η = 1 had a fairly technical start, and I’ll admit that the first third of the book was a little slow for me because of it. There is quite a lot of focus on the science and mechanics behind Marcus Voss’s discovery, and while it helps establish the premise, it took me a while to become fully invested in the story.
Once the groundwork was laid, though, things became considerably more interesting. As the true nature of Marcus’s bargain began to emerge and the more sinister elements of the story came into play, I found myself enjoying it much more.
I did find some of the developments fairly predictable, but that didn’t stop it from being an entertaining read. It is a short, intriguing mix of suspense, mystery and the supernatural, built around that wonderfully dangerous question: what happens when an offer seems too good to be true?
This story is about a man who has invented something that would revolutionize the world's economies and also solve a lot of other problems. But he is not a philanthropist.
There will be consequences as a result of his attitude. If readers have read A Perfect Bitch, book 2, a familiar character appears in this book, which is very ominous!
These are the kind of books that are quite creepy at the end - but I couldn't wait to get there!
Brilliantly written, the writing and pacing of the story keep the reader gripped to the end.
